Important Information - Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19)

At North West Private Hospital we value the health, safety and welfare of everyone that we touch.

Since the initial advisement of COVID-19, North West Private Hospital has been continually developing its COVID-19 preparedness and is now enforcing an action plan aimed at protecting the community with regard to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in line with State and Australian Government advisements.

We are focused on protecting patients and staff. With screening for all entering the hospital and reduced and restricted visiting hours to apply from 18/03/2020.

Maternity visitation will be restricted to the partner or primary support person, to protect both babies and new mothers.

Commencing from 18/03/2020, the following Visitor Restrictions will apply:

  • Hospital visiting hours to medical, surgical and mental health wards restricted to strictly 1 hour daily between the hours 3:00pm – 4:00pm
  • A maximum of two visitors (at same time) are permitted to visit.
  • Visitors to the maternity unit is restricted to partners or primary support person only (to protect newborns and their parents)
  • All visitors will be screened at entry to the hospital before access is granted to the hospital.
  • Infection control and hand hygiene policies enforced.

While coronavirus is of concern, it is important to remember that most people displaying symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or tiredness are likely suffering with a cold or other respiratory illness—not coronavirus.
