Dr Manoj Ravindran
Clinical Director
Dr Manoj Ravindran obtained his Membership with the Royal College of Psychiatry in 2006, in the United Kingdom, and has worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist for both the NHS, and the Private Sector for nine years.
Dr Ravindran has extensive experience in In-Patient, Rehabilitation and Social Psychiatry.
His passions include:

- Functional recovery of Mood disorders
- Complex Trauma
- Schizophrenia
Dr Ravindran is an advocate for the use of the Recovery Model, strongly promoting compliance and focusing on the importance of shared decision making. As both a Psychiatrist and a Cognitive Analytical Therapist, he uses his psychological skills to deliver a holistic patient-centred approach.
He also has an avid interest in the assessment and management of Trauma and related Mental Health Disorders which include mood disorders, addictions, personality disorders and psychosis.
After 23 wonderful years in the United Kingdom, Dr Ravindran moved to Australia to be close to family, have an adventure and to have a different experience of working in Mental Health. For the last two years he has worked as an In-patient Consultant and a Medical Lead for the largest Community and Mental Health Team serving Greater Bendigo in Victoria. In order to expand his horizons and work in an environment conducive to pursuing his interest in the management of Trauma related disorders, he recently moved to the Private Sector in North West Tasmania where he set up a Trauma Recovery service.
Dr Sabrina Maeder

Dr Sabrina Maeder
Sabrina is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working in public and private mental health services. She has specific interest and expertise in mood disorders, anxiety and a passion for working with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma. On a background of extensive training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) she is trained in many other psychological therapy models, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Dr Christine Barstad

Dr Christine Barstad received her BA from Smith College, Massachusetts with a double major in Music and Theatre. After spending 10 years in NYC as an aspiring classical pianist, singer and jazz dancer, she resumed her education with a change in focus and received her MD at the University of Washington in Seattle. She completed her Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Wyoming at Casper and practiced rural medicine in Wyoming and Montana. Immigrating to Australia in 2009 with her family, she achieved Fellowship with the RACGP in 2012. She practiced in Ulverstone as a GP until invited by Dr Ravindran to join the team at Rivendell, NWPH in January of 2021 as the GP for the ward. She continues to work part time as a GP at Tasmanian Family Medical in Burnie as well. Lessons learned as an artist in her early years have proven to be invaluable in her GP role and particularly in her current role at Rivendell.
